The psychic genealogy of my grandmother's line (coming soon!), my father's mother born in a log cabin in Franklin County, Kentucky is teaching me a lot. Turns out Central Kentucky was Cherokee country, the Paint, Wild Potato, Blue and Bird clans.

Nine generations before my grandmother there was an infusion of Irish into the fold, particularly Dubliners, men from Dublin who married Cherokee women.

One can only imagine why these men "emigrated" from Ireland to cross the Virginia mountains and live with the Cherokee in Kentucky.

I counted no fewer than 21 grandfathers from Dublin entering the picture 11 generations ago.

Think about it: Stores of corn and thirsty Irishmen.

Cheers grandfathers!
